FE Comics > About > Creator Bios
So who are those crazy people behind all the wild words and images to be found within the pages of FE Comics's publications? Without further ado, we give you the following very talented individuals.
Channels
Story by A. G. Devitt
Pencils by Brandon Dawley
Inks by Star E. Olson
|
A.G. Devitt was born in 1974 in Buffalo, NY and has died several times since. When he isn’t writing Channels for FE Comics, Devitt writes short fiction (watch for “Assassin’s Playground” in Bash Down the Door and Slice Open the Badguy: Humorous Tales of Swords & Sorcery from FE), teaches creative writing, and is known to engage in spontaneous kung fu. He has written two novels that he may, one day, submit for publication. He hates butter.
Brandon Dawley draws pictures. He is happy where he is. He is without inner child. He is alone with pencil. He is in a safe place.
Brandon has spent numerous years working in the comic, cartoon, apparel, newspaper and film industries. As a cartoonist and illustrator he has worked for a diverse range of clients, in creation and production for comics and storyboards, and also graphic designing layouts of book covers, and developing logos. He has lived and worked in New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Athens, GA. He works in both traditional and digital media. Brandon presently lives and works in Central NY.
Star E. Olson is forced to pimp out her artistic skills in order to keep her herd of bulldogs in chewy bones. She has worked on numerous projects for various and sundry clients, to include illustrations and cover art, as well as a short story for the Fantasist publication Cloaked in Shadow: Dark Tales of Elves. Seeking only to prove that “nice, but a little weird” is just fine in the real world, she has recently branched out into graphic design with her “full-time adult job.” Hopefully that crap will be done with as soon as the freelance career takes off. Check out her work at www.stareolson.com Leave a comment in her guestbook . . . but make it nice or you could find yourself on the business end of an irate bulldog named “Big Man” . . . and we aren’t talking about his face.

The Fracture
Story by Diana Dru Botsford and Chun Lee
Pencils and Inks by John R. P. Nyaid
Colors by Axel Medellin Machain
|
Diana Dru Botsford is a transplated New Yorker (Go Mets!) with a varied background in Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. She has writen for Star Trek: The Next Generation (“RASCALS”) and produced for television, including the cult hit animated series “Spiral Zone.” In between writing jaunts, she’s designed, directed and supervised Visual Effects for films such as Dusk Til Dawn, Nightmare on Elm Street VI, and Tank Girl.
Botsford recently completed her first full-length Science Fiction novel, Critical Past and when not devising new twists and turns for The Fracture characters, she teaches screenwriting at Missouri State University in addition to working on her second SF novel. She also writes and directs for the local community theatre.
Chun Lee has been a huge fan of comic books since he was twelve and collecting Marvel Universe Cards. He now lives in Old Town, Maine, deflecting questions of why he came up to a frozen wasteland, after growing up in Southern California. His short story “A Contained Inferno” will be featured in the March 31st issue of the webzine The Late Late Show, and his short story “Stillworld” will be in the FE anthology Sails and Sorcery.
John R. P. Nyaid lost his way while enroute to Venus from the planet Kug-shwarc, back in 1966, and found himself deep in the forested vales of Malaysian Borneo. Were it not for a kindly Dayak couple, he’d still be swinging and yodelling amongst tree-tops shouting non-sensical expletives like “ice-cream” and “basket” and missing a vine or two—much to the amusement of his orang-utan mates.
Having journeyed into the realms of the kitchen, Disneyland, concept art and book illustrations, he’s now prompted to build up his fantasy arsenal and indulge his fantasist tendencies on comic pages. The Fracture is his first such venture.
Axel Medellin Machain was born (so they say) in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1975. He got great grades in his industrial design career, which he uses just to draw robots, anyway . . . he spends his time basically drawing, trying to survive with advertising stunts, and going out with his wonderful girlfriend. His first work in comic books was a short story drawn in Metal Hurlant, written by Alexandro Jodorowsky, followed by several published stories in Mexico. Ninety percent of his creations have female leading characters, among them Lil' Cousin Holocaustica (who had an almost two-year newspaper run), Laura's Bazaar (a somewhat irregular webcomic) and the Wonderful Lisa Da Vinci (finalist in the 2006 Platinum Comic Book Challenge, to be published as a graphic novel sometime next year). He really wants to do concept design, but that's another story. The Fracture is his first coloring job.
